I have come to realize that most people are trudging through life with absolutely no idea of what they were meant to be, do or what their reason for being. Allow me to say that you were given life for a reason, your life is important and life should be lived with top quality expectations. The main issue is that most do not know how to find a purpose in life and absolutely have no idea that it is quite possible to achieve!
I have had 2 revelations that opened my eyes as to where my life was headed.
I remember a few years ago walking into my kitchen, standing at the sink and it just hit me that my life was just plain and ordinary, day in and day out, doing the same old extremely boring routine in my life.
Perhaps you are stuck in the same place I was…you know, fall into bed at night, not getting the allotted amount of sleep, waking to an early alarm clock, rushing thru family routines, getting to work on time, putting in 8 to 10 hours a day, rushing home, stopping to get errands done, dinner, family issues at night, falling into bed.
When I had time to watch or listen to the news, I would see how bad things would happen to others that totally ruined their lives, and I was just glad it wasn’t me, yet I also realized that nothing good was happening in my life. I had nothing to look forward to in the future… I was going nowhere. And of course I put it aside and kept in my dull daily routine.
Then about a year ago a relative made a comment to me of, “don’t you want to do something with your life?” That one really hit me upside the head and got me to look within myself, and at myself.
I was tired of the “routine” and was more than determined to figure out where my life was going and why I am here. (the saying goes…everyone has a purpose in life)
I discovered that there are always turning points, plenty of bumps and roadblocks in life, yet how you tackle those and how you move forward, to make a bright pathway towards a successful future is totally up to you as an individual. No one is going to make changes for you.
Here are just a few things to think about when looking for your purpose:
- You totally need to challenge yourself
- Realize that your beliefs need adjustments
- It takes building confidence and attitude
- Finding your purpose is how you see yourself
- Change your way of thinking, start with a few small steps
- Find a way to make tomorrow a better day
- Don’t be a quitter
- Learn to be in control of yourself and where you are going
- You have to learn to open your mind to get to a better place
Some philosophers say as an individual, you need to “define your purpose”, yet how is one suppose to know what their purpose is if they have no idea where or how to discover it? It takes an abundance of understanding the reality around you, understanding your inner self and deciding on where you want to be.
To find your purpose in life you must first cleanse your mind, empty it of all the negative thoughts and false statements. Early in life we are taught to do things in a certain way, we socialize with a certain group of people and the beliefs that are put into our heads by family, friends, the general public definitely has an influence on us. Declutter the social conditioning that filled your head throughout your life, be able to eliminate all the the false answers, and the false conditioning.
- Does my life matter?
- Why am I alive?
- What am I here for?
- What is my reason for being?
- Why is my life not going anywhere?
- How can I change things?
